Will Eastman, founder of U Street Music Hall

On Thursday, April 12th, MMBS is bringing in Will Eastman to come speak with us. Will is a house DJ and Producer as well as a member of the group Volta Bureau. He has achieved success on Beatport and has received support from DJs including Fatboy Slim, Tiesto, and Pete Tong.
 
He also co-founded the U Street Music Hall, a popular dance club in D.C. U Street Music Hall has had artists from all over the world perform there, including A-Trak, Digitalism, Pendulum, Designer Drugs, Odd Future, Simian Mobile Disco, Four Tet, Camo & Krooked, Chiddy Bang, and more!
 
Will has been a musician for many years now and is involved in many different aspects of the music industry. This is sure to be a great event for everyone, whether you’re an aspiring DJ, producer, venue-owner, or just want to learn more about what it’s like to work in the industry.

Andrew Mrusko, Former Purchaser for Recordmasters

On Thursday, March 29th at 6 PM, we are having Andrew Mrusko, the former purchaser for Recordmasters music stores come to speak to us. Recordmasters was a popular Maryland-area record store chain. Andrew was in charge of the purchasing for all stores, which meant he chose what records would be sold at all the stores–a pretty influential job! Come out this Thursday to learn about the music industry from a retail perspective, and what the music industry used to be like before the digital era.

Mike Ostrow, Co-Founder of Entertainment Exchange

On Thursday, March 15th at 6 PM, we are having Mike Ostrow, the Co-Founder of Entertainment Exchange come to speak to us. Entertainment Exchange is an award winning entertainment agency and event planning company. Their products and services range from talent such as DJs, bands, ensembles, and variety acts to production equipment to consulting and logistics. This Thursday, March 1st at 6 PM, MMBS, along with the Business Law Society, are bringing Mitch Glazier, the Executive Vice President of the Recording Industry Association of America to VMH to speak with us.
